Day 88

Read John 11:55-12:11.

Mary of Bethany

This passage reminds me of Mary’s humble heart. Mary doesn’t care about traditional customs or what others will think about her. All she cares about is worshiping Jesus. She put herself lower than everyone in the room, just for His glory. Oh, how I wish I could be more like Mary. In this story Judas, the one who will eventually betray Jesus, criticizes Mary for her outward act of love to Jesus as “too expensive” and unnecessary. However, Mary knew just how much this would mean to Jesus in the few days before His death. Don’t you think we often get discouraged by the Judas’s in this world? How can you be more like Mary?
